The Spotlight: Zedd

At 23 years old, German producer zedd is taking the world by storm, with his innovative songs and sampling (Slam the Door was sampled off a youtube video) he is already headlining huge festivals at such a young age with people as old as Tiesto.

I'm not usually into huge electro beats that hit ridiculously hard unless I'm out or in a certain mood but for some reason Zedd is the only exception, his music has so much energy and this reflects in his DJ sets. So much so that he almost apparently stole the show at Cosmic Opera from Fedde Le Grand, not an easy thing to achieve!

Here are a few tracks that have reached my library from him.  Just a little warning, this kind of music is very different to my past features, but still very good nonetheless! Just trying to diversify into the world of electronic music.

Stars Come Out (Original Mix)
Probably one of his best productions to date, the heavy beats and Heather Bright's vocals that come in at around 0:45 are just amazing, I'll let the song do the rest of the talking. I've also added the Tim Mason remix which has a more progressive feel to it just in case this one isn't your cup of tea.

Slam The Door (Original Mix)
The voice being sampled from a youtube video that was posted a few years ago, Zedd continues to show his creativity while sticking to his signature sound. A very gritty track with an even dirtier second drop.

Shave It (Original Mix)
Although more listener friendly, Shave it is a similar track to Slam the Door, only difference is, what I said in the beginning, It's more tailored for the mainstream compared to Slam The door, in my opinion one of his best productions.

Zedd - Shotgun
Dark and heavy, starts to get interesting at 1:00 so skip there, this is song is a dark, big room track. It's one of those songs that the louder and better the speakers are, the better this song becomes. This is what I think to be the heaviest track he's ever made. The drop is just pure bass! Even though still a quality track!

Skrillex - Breaking A Sweat (Zedd Remix)
Saving the best for last, Zedd's remix of Skrillex's 'Breakin' A Sweat' is absolutely incredible, retaining the energy you would expect from him and incorporating all the great parts of Skrillex's song and meshing them with his sound. How a great remix should sound
